Supply Chain

With over 11,000 catalogue stocked products across 21 categories, and further access to over 30,000 products, we eliminate the need for multiple suppliers. Our multi-category approach ensures that we can provide everything you might need.

For those items we don’t stock that are specific to your business, we source, procure and stock to ensure you’ve always got the stock you need, when you need it. And to ensure you’re getting the most value, we work with you to identify cost-savings across multiple categories.

As part of our end-to-end service provision, we’ve embedded a strategic print partner within our business. We also have an office waste specialist for confidential and non-confidential shredding and electronic media disposal/recycling.

Logistics

From our National Distribution Centre in Telford, to our 28 Regional Distribution Centres across the UK and Ireland, we hold a 99.5% success rate for ‘on time, in full’ next working day deliveries on all stocked products nationwide.

We have over 350 delivery vehicles, reaching 96% of all postcodes throughout the UK and Ireland, with our trusted delivery partners covering the other 4%. We designate our drivers, so you always see a familiar face. And to make deliveries that little bit easier, if you require it, we can visit your sites in advance, noting your delivery points and any specific instructions.

At Lyreco, we’re striving to be more sustainable. We’re currently FORS bronze accredited for our four Regional Distribution Centres in the London area, but we’re working on achieving Silver this year. We’re also trialling electric vans in the capital to replace our fleet, supporting the Mayor of London’s mission to improve the city’s air quality.

Lyreco is leading the way in sustainability.

From using solar energy to generate 3.03 million kWh in 2018, to our biodiversity projects such as our five on-site apiaries , we’re finding new ways to go green.

We are one of the first UK Commercial and Industrial site to combine large scale battery storage and rooftop solar panel installation, using the system to help power our business as well as our electric car charging points and what we don’t use goes back into the national grid.

We’re also embracing the circular economy by focusing on reducing, reusing and recycling as much as we can, with 56% of our waste being reused. We turn our food waste into fertilisers & electricity and have a number of recycling schemes in place across the business for materials such as batteries, toners and confidential shredding. These schemes are also available to our customers. 

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

We believe today’s businesses should have a positive social effect. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we follow a defined set of six global principles which are aligned with the 17 Global Compact Sustainability Development Goals. 

In order to support our customers in their sustainable approach, Lyreco have developed a bespoke and unique methodology, to assess environmentally friendly products which are in our catalogue.

Our experienced senior management teams make sure we maintain governance, risk and compliance standards, while our QSS department ensures our key business decisions meet our sustainability goals.

We’re focused on improving the lives of those we work with. We offer training programmes to all our employees as part of our career management, and we’ve also launched initiatives on ergonomics, health & wellbeing and safety.

We promise to only purchase products from reliable suppliers who respect social, environmental and human standards. Since 2014, all Lyreco subsidiaries use the same methodology to assess green products.

Community

Lyreco For Education is our core charity programme started in 2008 to give children living in poor conditions a better access to education. In that time we have supported projects in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Brazil, Togo and over the last four years our subsidiaries around the world have raised over one million euros for children in Madagascar. Our Charity Steering Committee (CSC) supports all our staff charity endeavours. Our people let us know which organisations they feel can benefit from our assistance. From charities and local organisations, to sports and activity clubs, our committee supports causes that impact the community the most.

We support local, national and group charities through fun fundraising activities. We also support our employees’ endeavours to raise money outside of working hours.

Every year we lend our Telford customer services call centre to BBC Children in Need. From warehouse to sales staff, our volunteers come from across the organisation.

We’ve also been working with Telford Crisis Network for the past 12 months.We’ve donated laptops for community centres, shelving for the central food storage and £5000 to help their cause. We’ve also set up campaigns to collect food donations to stock up the bank.

LOCAL CARE

We strive to make sure this doesn’t happen but in the unfortunate event of something going wrong with your account, we know you’d rather talk with someone that understands you. That’s why we have three local customer care hubs in our head office in Telford, Airdrie and Dublin.

LOCAL DRIVERS

Last but not least, we know it’s great to always see a familiar face at your door. That’s why we employ our own local delivery drivers who work their own individual routes so you will have your parcel delivered by the same driver. All of our drivers are also DBS checked and fully qualified, giving you peace of mind. Our Logistics and Delivery staff never fail to deliver.
